The sessions run for 50 minutes and have a cost of $200.

A mental health care plan is not compulsory, clients are welcomed to book privately.

Under the Medicare Health Scheme, a GP can grant up to 10 psychology sessions per calendar year. The client needs to pay the full price of the session and I process the rebate for them. The rebate amount is currently of $98.95 per session. After 6 sessions the GP is informed of the progress of the sessions, and, if needed, may require up to 4 extra sessions.

The amount of sessions depends on the complexity of the presenting issue, but it is important to consider that lasting change requires time.

Keeping your information confidential is a requirement of my profession, except when the following applies: If I believe there’s a real risk of harm to yourself or someone else, or of the records are subpoenaed by a court lawyer.

If you need to cancel or reschedule a session, I kindly ask for at least 24 hours’ notice to avoid a cancellation fee. Just send an email to galenapsychology@gmail.com as soon as you know you need to make a change. Thank you!
